Weather
The climate of the Languedoc-Roussillon region is classified as Mediterranean. In short, this means long, dry summers, temperate springs and autumns, and mild, wet winters. The region is the second sunniest in France after Corsica with over 300 days of invigorating sunshine each year. The annual average temperature is 14º, and the city of Eus is the sunniest place in France!
Much of the exploring and sightseeing in Languedoc-Roussillon is done outdoors and luckily the weather caters to its tourists. The coast is warmer and the interior plains and mountains are cooler. Most rain falls in January and February and the hottest and driest months are July and August with average temperatures of 30°C. One of the best months for mild weather is October.
